Today the demolition crew arrived at 11th Street & Railroad to demolish those three buildings and make way for the new Newhall Library:
First to go was the “Just Passing Thru” tattoo parlor, which must really make Mayor Dude proud (he has likened tattoo and massage parlors to medical marijuanna clinics).
At the rate they were going, I don’t think these buildings are going to be there at all come noon. Next, the chiropractor shop will be demoed, then the doggy day care place and finally the auto parts place. Then we’ll have a great a big site on which to build Newhall Library v 2.0.

Anyone else hear the rumor about an Irvine Spectrum-type shopping complex being built in Santa Clarita?
Tattoo parlors and medical marijuana clinics are very similar in that Santa Clarita prefers that people don’t have the freedom to make decisions regarding their own life.
The new library should be nice. Maybe everyone should fire one up in celebration.

Unless the credit crunch somehow resolved itself in the last 24 hours I don’t see that happening anytime soon. Maybe someone has a plan but I guarantee you they don’t gots the money!

Damn it! I had an appointment to have Mrs. Obama’s image tattooed across my chest and half way around my back (he needed a large canvas). They did not call to cancel my appointment. Did they leave an address for the new parlor?
