That’s because her death was by suicide and not some heinous murder. Read the story on the KHTS website. It’s still sad, just not SENSATIONAL!

That is something being explored now, after the fact, not 2 weeks ago when she disappeared. It may not be sensationalistic now, but at the time, shortly following two attempted abductions, her disappearance is worth some attention.

Rightly or wrongly, I think the reason it did not get a lot of traction is because she was 18, there was no evidence of an abduction, and I certainly hoped she was just hiding out with a friend somewhere.

As time went by, this of course became less likely.

It is bewildering that this disappearance/death did not get the public or media attention Petz felt it deserved. Petz linked the front page Signal article up on Facebook-but did not see it get any traction in the rest of the community . This is in contrast to that period of attemted child abductions in Tesoro/Newhall areas when a large cadre of people put it up on FB. Can anyone explain the seeming lack of interest ?
