They say memories are golden
Well maybe that is true.
I never wanted memories.
I only wanted you.

A million times I needed you,

In life I loved you dearly,

In my heart you hold a special place
No one could ever fill.

Our family chain is broken

The only thing “missing” from this is the groomers name. This is intentional. My mom decided not to release the shops name. The owner of the shop is heartbroken as well. The owner was compassionate and helpful in trying to help us search for Teddy Bear, she was also compassionate when she met us to comfort my mom when we had to go pick up Teddy’s dead body. The owner was not physically present when the employees of her shop committed this egregious act. By disclosing the shops name, this owner would most likely be run out of business. My mom feels that by hurting them in this way, it would just be destroying one more life. It will not make her feel better, and it will not bring her Teddy Bear back.
Instead we want to get the word out there that this did happen. We make to make people aware that things like this can happen. We want to hopefully make all groomers/pet care givers aware, so that if they do not have strict practices in place to ensure that these kinds of things don’t happen, they get them in place. You should never have to be afraid when you leave your pet in the care of someone else, that you might never see them again. You should never have to take your dog to get groomed and bring them home dead days later.

Thanksgiving tragedy. My mom took her dog Teddy Bear to the groomers the day before Thanksgiving. The groomers gave my moms dog to someone else and his dog to us. The other gentleman picked up our dog thinking it was his at 4 or 5pm. We picked up his a couple of hours later. When my brother brought the other dog home my mom immediately realized that this was not her Teddy Bear. My brother went back to the groomers to find that they had given our dog to someone else. When we called this man, he said that he had left our dog on the porch and he had run away. That man did not have a collar on his dog, so his dog had on Teddy’s collar, and Teddy did not have any collar on. We searched all night for him from 8pm until 1:30 in the morning. We heard he was spotted in a wash near railroad tracks. We, with flashlights, searched tiredly to no avail.
The next day was Thanksgiving. Everyone searched again and we still could not find Teddy. We made and posted a thousand signs and scoured the areas he was lost in, but still nothing. That night we got a call and someone said they had found Teddy. We drove to the house and we saw right away that the dog they had was not Teddy. Right when we got home the phone rang again and it was someone else saying they found him. We went there and it was different people, with the same dog…not Teddy. My mom lay awake that night unable to sleep and heartbroken.
Friday was a day of more searching. We spent every waking moment looking for Teddy, with no avail. Saturday we searched again. We went to every pound, shelter and humane society in a 50 mile radius. Also, a nice gentleman brought a bloodhound out to try to trace Teddy’s scent. This gave my mom hope and she prayed that Teddy was somewhere waiting for her to find him.
This morning (Sunday) she got a call at 7:30 in the morning from a kind man who had said that he saw Teddy on Friday morning, dead. He believed that he was hit by a train. He went back this morning and buried him. After, he went to a local grocery store where he saw one of the lost dog signs that we had posted. He gave immediately called my mom to give her the terrible news. This afternoon he met us at the place Teddy died, to give us his body so we could bury him and put him to rest. My mom was in shock and despair. She did not want to believe that Teddy was really gone. On the way home we stopped at the vet so she could confirm, what we all already knew, that Teddy was in fact gone. The cemetery came and picked him up from her home later that day, and he will be buried at the Calabasas cemetery this week.

We hope that Teddy’s death was not a senseless one. We want to get the word out there that groomers and pet care givers need to have measures in place to ensure that something like this can never happen again. When we leave our pets (family members) in their care, we need to be assured that they will not be in danger and that a tragedy like this one, can never happen again.
May our little Teddy Bear rest in peace and be with the angels. We will miss him. Mom we are so sorry for your loss, we love you very much.

Does anyone know, will the left turn from Bouquet (heading south) onto Newhall be changed? There is no way that tiny little turn lane will be able to handle the flow for the new bridge. It currently takes 3 ridiculously long turn lanes on to Soledad, I’m sure people will prefer the CVC and there is space for maybe 3 vehicles in that current turn lane. I’m guessing they’ll get rid of that odd little turn at Jack in the Box….but then, will they let you U-turn on NHR so you can get to TJs?

That intersection is a joke, and I’ll never understand the poor layout of the BB/TJs parking log.

BTW, I noticed a notice posted in the window at Mervyns. I din’t have time to check for details, but it looked like it might have been an alcohol permit.

The Bouquet Cyn / Newhall Ranch intersection traffic flow should change dramatically once the CVC is done.

I doubt that seriously. Maybe patting each other on the head and saying “That’s interesting,” but when pressed they are just as closed minded and exclusive as Fred Phelp’s Church.

Looked at the City’s OVOV website and didn’t see anything on the last OVOV hearing or the EIR being available for review. Sounds like this is only a review and comment for the County EIR. Another fine job of thorough reporting by the Mighty Signal.

I just cannot believe that now they are stating that 2 people didn’t know their own dog. It really sounds far fetched. When I pick up my dogs from the kennel where they stay a couple of times a year, I can hear their barks when I pull into the parking lot, there is no way I wouldn’t know I had the wrong dog.
