Elderly man found safe, but what about his dog?

Yesterday’s KHTS article on the 65 year old Canyon Country man who went missing while walking his dog had a happy ending later that night when a Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Deputy found the man in a ravine. Doctors thought he might not make it through the night; it dipped into the 30s last night after all.

But what about his dog?

Sgt. Darren Harris at the SCV Sheriff’s station told me that “the dog had returned home on its own without the owner earlier  in the night.”

Alls well that ends well!

Haha. I love how the dog left his owner and went home by itself. Loyal? Maybe it itself. Haha. Good dog.

Damn! I’m pulling a blazingmonk and not rereading my posts. :)

    The dog left ITS owner.*

    Maybe TO itself. **

    Excuse my sloppiness.

On the other hand, maybe the dog tried to get Pops to go home, could not convince him, and decided to go home and “fetch” help and let people know they were alive. Smart dog…

Admittedly, I was annoyed as hell as the LASD helicopter circled overhead last night for two hours…

But I’m glad that he’s OK.

Todd, would you have been annoyed if that was your elderly relative that they were searching for?
