His prolific “vlogger” career started with what would become his most popular video, “A Franken Ferry Meltdown,” posted to YouTube on March 24 2008. Many of the clips in that sequence are repeated in the 29 other videos that followed and have now become familiar sound bytes in the NotAFerryFan library.
The longest video, entitled “Fight City Hall as One” centers on the Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) issue and spans 10 minutes 40 seconds. At 1 minute 13 seconds, the shortest is an endictment on One Valley One Vision (OVOV) and is simply entitled “WHY?”
NAFF went somewhat dormant in February 2009 with a prophetic video blasting Mayor Dude entitled “Mayor Franken Dud’s Election Campaign!”
NAFF re-emerged in November 2009 with a sort of bro-mance video entitled “Thank You!” dedicated to David Gauny and Bob Kellar on their stance on the Mayo expansion.
NAFF clearly improved his skills over time, but as Ferry’s outbursts abated, NAFF turned to a variety of techniques and an increasing use of original material (most recently a full blown “Crush on Obama” music video meme, complete with original lyrics and a co-conspirator portraying a transient with a crush on Frank Ferry) to expose and embarrass the incumbents in general, and Ferry in particular.
For two years, SCV residents in the know have wondered “who is this NotAFerryFan?”
After extensive research, SCVTalk has confirmed that NotAFerryFan is none other than frequent SCVTalk commenter Bill Reynolds. We can provide this information if necessary but suspect Mr. Reynolds will ultimately confirm our claim.
Mr. Reynolds, a Vietnam War Veteran and patriotic activist, made a recent public appearance at the Anti-Illegal Immigration Rally in Santa Clarita on Feb 27. He ended his speech repeating “the incumbents have gotta go!” and “the status quo has gotta go!” (Video courtesy of Blazing Monk)

Back then, when the guessing game started, Bill deflected speculation and wondered openly that it might be Bruce McFarland, who then as now, was causing trouble for the council. Indeed, in 9/08, it appears that Bruce registered notaferryfan.com.
In time though, the videos took on a decidedly right-wing bent, which ruled out McFarland. However, McFarland and Reynolds were a team of sorts, once upon a time, weren’t they?

Is that a good move for someone who writes a local political column? It’s a pretty small town. I’m guessing at least Dave Gauny will be a lot more careful about what he says to you. Add to that any City Council candidate… and incumbents… and City staff… and anyone else. Maybe those who just want to play you will drop a tidbit now and then, but once sources dry up it is tough to get them flowing again.

I’m glad to finally know who NAFF is. He used my discombobulated head in several videos to point out the socialist plague in the SCV.
What’s really funny is that apparently both Bill and Cash have seen me at public events, but neither have come forward to introduce themselves.
I believe if someone chooses to post under a pseudo name it should be their right and only a busy body would want to interfere.
That said, it should be irrelevant as to who NAFF is because they have been illuminating the truth about the politics in SCV.

As an aside, why the historically anti-business community would waste the Sierra Club members’ votes by endorsing a ditz and another person with a chronic, debilitating brain condition is beyond my comprehension.
