  1. Matt says:

Frank complaining about “dirty campaigning? hahahahahahahahaha, good one, Frank. Frank Ferry is the kind of slimy politician that just gets dirtier and slimier as the years go by. When Frank threatened David Gauny at City Council, Frank should have been forcibly removed from his seat. If a speaker threatened Frank at City Council you can be sure that speaker would have been ejected from Council. But it’s OK when a Councilman threatens one of US? It’s OK for Frank to STEAL coaches and players from our schools? This is a perfect example of why we need term limits, to get rid of garbage like Frank Ferry.

So finally our worthless paper does this watered-down article, AFTER the absentee ballots have been out for some time. My bet is Littlejohn and Premako couldn’t ignore all the criticism about their lack of integrity and fairness, but don’t worry you two, this article came late enough to have little or no impact at all with voters, just the way you planned it.

But notice that Littlejohn and Premako got that disgusting editorial about the fabricated hit pieces they THOUGHT “might” be coming in the mail and that lying hit piece of an editorial slimed all the challengers just before the absentee ballots went out, and THEY MADE IT ALL UP! That was the worst case of yellow journalism I have ever seen. THE SIGNAL SUCKS!

Frank Ferry is an educator, and he lives a life that is totally unethical. Shame on Alemany High School for keeping Slimy Frank as their principal.

Yep, I heartily agree – NO INCUMBENTS. Term limits, term limits, TERM LIMITS!

    • IHeartSCV says:

Yes, the only mailer I saw that quoted The Signal did precisely the opposite of what The Signal’s editorial board warned us of. “Citizens for Integrity in Government” sent out a full-page flyer on behalf of the incumbents. It quoted TMS’s Feb. 28th editorial with “Crime in Santa Clarita was down in 2009,” (a gross misrepresentation of facts). This was the very editorial that claimed we shouldn’t believe challengers who quote the Signal about crime. It’s absurd.

To clarify…Wow Matt, get over yourself. Yes, please remind us of the “honorable” deeds of Gauny and Boydston.

        That would be Gauny, the “Johnny come lately” whose life-long pursuit of immigration issues and advocating to address this problem dates back to late January 2010, and;

Boydston who would talk out of 12 sides of his mouth if he wasn’t limited to the three (I’m including his backside) on issues such as “don’t build the Newhall Library, errrr…..no I mean make sure you build this amazing facility in the manner that this additional group of people who might vote for me says it should be built.”

That’s almost as good as Boydston’s tireless efforts to remove billboards and address bandit signs as an “appointed” Councilmember, only now to be the biggest offender of bandit signs on City streets and parkways and that sign off I-5 that is only dwarfed in size by the size of his ego.

At least get your timing right if you are going to spin the library issue.

TB was opposed to building the library before the street scape was completely done. He and others did not win that battle. At this point TB is only trying to make the best of a bad situation. The library is a huge waste of taxpayer dollars.
The bandit signs is another issue, TB blew that one big time!

Oh Mattie. I would love to see you face to face with Frank Ferry.

Would you give him a piece of your mind? Would you stand up to him and REALLY how slimy he is?

I can see it now: Matt — his fists at his sides, stiff shoulders, slightly leaning forward to establish male dominance, viens popping out of his forehead and neck as he yells at Ferry for threatening Gauny and being a doo-doo head politician.

Awwww. That’s cute. You could sell tickets and donate all the funds to your boy Gauny.

After you spit in Ferry’s face for a bit, you can then go over to The Signal and have a brawl with Premako and Littlejohn! BETTER YET, you should advocate getting them fired and then The Signal can hire you since you clearly know everything about The Signal and how it should be run.

Oh and PS: The incumbents will probably win. Prepare yourself

For the sake of clarity: My function these days is that of editor of the business and opinion pages. I have no say in the news coverage.

Thumb up 0 Thumb down 0

    • Spineflower2 says:

But we recognize that the “news” pages are editorials in hiding…

Choosing what to cover and when is an editorial decision that clearly expresses the opinions of the editors and publisher.

Stories about how great the City is doing right before an election is an implicit endorsement of the incumbents, and blurs the distinction between “news” and “opinion.”

How many deaththreats did those Repulican candidates get? In the atmosphere today of openly threatening violent resistance to Obama and Democrats over health care reform, such “target” imagery takes on a different and more threatening tone than in the time of the 2004 example cited in the article.

How many leftists openly carried firearms to Bush speeches in 2004?

Josh, your pathetic whining is lame. Your paper sucks and everyone knows it is nothing more than a PR tool for city hall and City Council. Comic books have more credibility than your crappy rag.

Vote David Gauny and Tim Ben Boydston. Just because Damageinc “and” SCV Voter “and” cry me a river will go ape-chit. Also because this city deserves much better representation than the incumbent jerk-offs that needed to golong time ago.

I’m more of a lover and not a fighter. I think everyone on the City Council has his/her good qualities and bad qualities.

I loved that they requested a “Public Defender” and the undercover FBI agent wil not help them. The simpleton Tea baggers keep missing the point. These are the same whiners that were crying when the McCain/Bailin ticket lost. Now that their yelling (because they are haters not debaters) did not stop health care from passing, they are crying again. They think they can scare, intimidate and force others to go along with them by comments like “This time we came unarmed”, let me tell you something they are not the only ones who have guns and not all ex-military join the fringe militia crazies who don’t pay taxes and run around in the parks playing commando, the majority understand that the world is more complicated and grey then the black and white that these simpleton make it out to be and that my friend is the point. So it’s only fitting that their leaders are Sarah Bailin, Victoria Jackson, Michele Bachmann and their turn coat Glenn. So if you are bothered that there are some misconceptions of your group, well then I think you need to be more careful who you invite to give you speeches.

Wow, what a thread! If this keeps up I’m cancelling cable!

Regarding TBB: I’ve known him for several years and if there’s one thing he’s not, is a phony! Showman? Sure! That’s what he does for a living. Phony? No. Have we had our differences over the years? Hell yeah! While he can’t be given credit for being the only one, his drive and determination played a big part in getting the ball rolling to move the CTG from the rattlesnake-infested rattrap up Sierra Hwy to downtown Newhall; and I was around way back when people (Including myself) thought he was crazy for even bringing up the idea.
I still see that drive and determination when he talks about the city, and know he’ll still be passionate about it whether he wins or not. I learned not to count him out. If you think he’s full of it, call him on it. Send him an email, or call him direct. He’s never been one who’s afraid to stand up for himself and what he believes in.
