Is it over yet?

If I see Meg Whitman’s face or hear Steve Poizner’s voice once more, I’m going to have to unplug from all media for the next two weeks.

Except for old fashioned books.

Have you ever seen such a spectacle in a California primary? Two billionaire Republicans thrashing at each other, hurling the epithet “liberal” everywhere, picking on poor people and basically slashing and burning their way to June 8 in competition for the 31% of voters in this state who identify as Republicans.

It’s as remarkable as it is exhausting.

I wonder how SCV is going to vote? McKeon is in Whitman’s camp while Smyth is in Poizner’s. If I had to guess, I’d bet Santa Clarita Republicans favor Poizner over Whitman.

The Tea Partiers are supporting Poizner. I just provided them some data to help them increase “turnout.”

I predict that if Poizner wins the primary he will be the next Bill Simon candidate, with everyone wondering why he lost by 20 points in the fall.

I do know that when these guys self fund their campaigns and they lose they are just sick about blowing all that money.

This is definitely going to be an interesting race. I have a problem with Whitman not voting for “28 YEARS!” Poizner is okay, but not as good as Bill Simon would have been. Met Simon during the 2002 campaign and he was a brilliant guy, never came across when he spoke in public though.

Heard that if Whitman wins the campaign and spends as much as normal to beat Brown, she will have spent more money to win the governorship of California than Obama did for president.

Wow, that is a shocker! Poor Simon came off as a quasi-dimwit in public. How humiliated to lose to Gray Davis!

I have a real problem with Poizner, Whitman and Fiorina.

I dunno… but something about these billionaires leaving their lucrative lives behind suddenly to earn less than a 1/4 Million in salary, that doesn’t add up for me.

Yes, indeed. Shouldn’t they be out “creating jobs” instead of looking for one?

Fiornina is not a billionaire, though she should have plenty of money from her HP severance, but not enough to run for statewide office. Remember the only things she has done since her HP dismissal are write a self serving book that did not sell well and get dismissed from the McCain campaign as a special econcomic adviser.

wehn she came to HP stock was at $ 52 when she left it was at $ 21…During this same time period, HP competitor Dell’s stock price increased from $37 to $40 per share. In April 2009, the business magazine web site Condé Nast Portfolio listed Fiorina as one of “The 20 Worst American CEOs of All Time”.

All she did was write a self serving book? WOW! Now that sounds familiar? Let me think………………….. His name starts with an O ??????? He has the reverse midas touch (everything he touches turns to shit) And he will not do a press conference unless the teleprompter gets the questions first. It’s on the tip of my tongue! Someone help me out here.

  6. Petz says:

When Whitman found it expedient to throw Bob Kellar under the bus Petz took a new look at Poizner. Endorsed by Smyth, Runner, and most importantly Tom McClintock, Steve poizner deserves our support.

Try reaching a customer service rep at Ebay and you will get an idea of the contempt that Meg Whitman has for the average customer/ citizen.

Not aligned with the true needs of California nor able to appeal to the independent cross over voter. We need the candidate who can carry the largest weed whacker into Sacramento. That man is Steve Poizner.

I am glad I don’t watch anything on TV unless it’s been recorded so I can skip the commercials. Plus, I don’t think Operation Repo and Say Yes to the Dress are shows that have the Republican “demographic”.

I’ve never actually been near a TV so much during an election of any sort. I pretty much just don’t watch TV and get my shows from iTunes, Netflix, or hulu in general if i happen to like something.

Recently I’ve been helping my grandma out and she watches TV constantly. Oh…my…god i am already sick of those two harping on each other.

Do these sort of ads work on anyone not already sort of leaning one way? To me it makes them both look like jerks rather then making me vote for one out of fear of the other.

  10. Your Web Guru says:

Whitman recently overstated the illegal immigrant population in California by saying it’s at 30% when the California Department of Finance puts the figure at roughly 11%, many of whom are being held pending deportation hearings. She also misstated by saying that it’s putting a burden on California’s budget when in fact the federal government instituted the Criminal Alien Assistance Program in 1994 which reimburses state and local municipalities
for the costs of incarcerating illegal immigrants convicted of certain crimes. Claims for reimbursement are based on per-diem costs for inmates and prison guard salaries.
So aside from Meg looking like an idiot, this might also put to rest the idea that illegals are clogging up our courts and costing the state money.

I just love how they each sling mud at each other, but don’t really tell us what they will do. If they spent as much money on promoting their Agendas,as they do on badmouthing each other, then I’d be more interested. Politicking at it’s worst.

Steve the poisoner vs. Slim Whitman. It feels like a WWF trash-taking match.
