SCV residents brought up the fact that water from California’s State Water Project, delivered to the SCV through Castaic lake, is already high in chloride but the Sanitation man said ““The bottom line is that we have to meet the compliance,” of 117 mg of chloride per liter SIGNAL

“We are the one we’ve been waiting for”
YES WE CON!
YES WE CON!
WordPress has a great spam filter, but they need to work on Birther filtering technology.
Hands free cell phone kits aren’t that expensive. But death kinda is.
Also – Does John Adam’s penis shrinkage directly correlate to the amount of “only MY America is a good America” type of comments?
I’m going with yes.
Haha!
It was THE POOL!
Still going with yes, Johnny boy. Lame humor doesn’t always let you wriggle off the hook.
Lame humor? I thought you brought up penis shrinkage? Unless that is what you consider quality humor?
I was referring to my joke. Over your head, shorty.
Cell phones – Most everyday I see about 1 in 5 drivers yakking on their phones during my 1/2 hour commute. Are we really expected to believe that law enforcement doesn’t also see the same thing? Oh, that’s cause they do it too!
funny….I recently observed a driver using her cell phone (and yes, going below the speed limit and having a hard time staying in her lane as is usually the case) and a sheriffs vehicle passed (going the speed limit) on her right. I was behind her in the left lane and when I saw in my rearview mirror a sheriffs vehicle coming up, I thought for sure…..
I then thought perhaps she wasn’t on the phone, so I came up on her left and YUP just chat’n away!
Why is this law (that was made to save drivers lives on the road) not taken seriously?! It’s as if many think it’s a joke. People do drive differently (as the person in the article stated) while talking on a hand-held phone, or drinking a beverage, or eating, or trying to read a map (or a book) , or any other activity behind the wheel that does not involve the act of DRIVING! There are some bad drivers out there and putting a phone in their hands just makes them a danger to society!
Good one
Nope; new laws passed to enforce laws already in the books, that were never enforced to begin with, are just laws and means diddlysh*t!
Had Round Table last night, and I concur….the best ‘chain’ pizza around!
yes great pizza, their marketing campaing sucks

Hey at least it is not 12, 13 or 15%
I went to the coffee shop today. Around 2:45 ish. Guess what people? It was CLOSED!
Apparently, the hours are 6am-2pm.
FACEPALM.
June employment numbers are in. Anyone care to comment?
May Factory order numbers just came in! Any comments?
Someone please tell me how great Obama is. Someone please tell me spending and raising taxes spurs the economy and creates long term jobs.
PLEASE! Make my day!
6 months to go until biggest tax Hikes in history start!
The first wave begins by: The Bush tax cuts will expire and personal income tax will rise, marriage penalty will return, the return of the death tax, and higher tax rates on investors.
The second wave continues with: TWENTY NEW taxes just in Obamacare, the medicine cabinet tax, the special needs kids tax, and the HSA withdrawal tax hike.
The third wave: The AMT (affecting over 28 million familes), the employer tax hikes, small business depreciation will disappear, loss of the research tax credit, no more deductions on tuition, education or teaching, and charitable contributions for IRA’s no longer allowed.
Welcome to Obamaworld! You wanted change? You got it!
From Barack Obama’s comments this morning…
“Now, make no mistake: We are headed in the right direction. ”
ARE YOU F’N KIDDING ME? Imagine the level of stupidity you would need to believe that ! I Mean TRY AND IMAGINE!
Notice I did not add the Cap and Trade tax and The Value Added tax Obama is proposing! That should add 2-5 million jobs using obamanomics
John “birther” adams lives under the virtual bridge in SCVtalk land.
“McCain World” would be what then? Utopian bliss, one bullet away from being led by a squawking malcontent c-nt of an ex-governor?
No thanks.
John B, I notice in your comments there is very little supporting of Obama policy? Your comments seem to all focus on making funny remarks about the opposing poster or asking a question of the person making the original comment. How about you support your position and I will support mine?
OWNED!
John, Let me start by saying I enjoy your writing and agree with quite a bit you have to say. You seem to be like Mike and on top of your views unlike other childish people on this site.
Having said that, I am suprised by the lack of Obama support I see from the left??
Most responses to conservatives on this site are limited to ridicule of there position or intelligence level. That is not adult debate!
If Obama is your guy then tell us why! Tell us why the stimulus is working! (or will work) Then you have taken a position. You guys try to avoid taking a position. I can go back and show you a post by Mike where he brilliantly responded to my question of if he thought the stimulus would work. His response? “It Might” Wow that is going out on a limb! 3 years later he can proclaim “see I said it might work” or ” well I was not that condident in the plan and said so”
Jeff does the same thing now. He used to have daily posts about stimulus related projects and how good the stimulus was producing employment. Now try and find the word stimulus in a daily brief!
Reminds me of Rory Reid completely removing the word Reid from his advertizing and campaign literature. Look at his website and try to find REID. You guys can’t do like Rory and run away from who you are or who you voted for with responses filled with ridiclue and childish name calling.
Conservatives are always the victim huh? We have only had multiple conservative posters go personal and cyber stock serveral posters, even do so far as contact employers.
You really need to get your own blog or go into the forum, where national political debate is welcomed and encourage. You continually show up from time to time and insist on high jacking every local blog and baiting people into pissing matches about other topics. You expect people to answer your “questions”, yet you can’t answer my simple question on whether or not you are a birther. Because whether or not you subscribe to the most extreme conspiracy theories really tells people a lot and the fact you can answer a point blank question about it leads us all to think you do subscribe are therefore BAT SHIT CRAZY.
Damage that was a classic example of what I was talking about! What is your position? Where do you stand?
Name calling and personal insults seem to be your only game? Not just to me either.
Why so angry with life? It’s going to get better son! I promise
I love how everyone is Angry but conservatives.
I am perfectly happy with life.
I would be happy to give my position once you give your position on the Presidents place of birth. Real simple… why shy away from such a simple question.
Nate, how about we make a deal. If I can show you where on this blog I have already answered that question you will either agree to:
a. Never come back on here with any of your 3-6 names.
or
b. admit you are my bitch and agree to never try and match wits with me again.
Now if I can not produce this answer that I claim I have already made. I will..
a. Never come back on here again
b. admit I am your bitch and agree to never try and match wits with you again.
Deal?
(hey mike want to make a side bet on whether he takes this deal? Dinner at winners choice)
??????
Deal
Earth to Nate
??????
Mike? You in?
I notice you mention Japan. How many stimulus packages did they try? How did it work out for them? It is time to put Keynes to bed for good!
John, John is not of the left, fyi.
As for the stimulus, I said “might” because that’s what I thought. I don’t and won’t celebrate half-hearted predictions. Should things turn around, or had it had the short-term effects I had hoped, I will/would have been happy for the recovery, but I wouldn’t claim special prescience.
If you consider how quickly major sectors of our economy were hemorrhaging, I think that taken as a whole, the emergency corrective measures have been a success. As for the stimulus itself, the economy is in worse shape than I had hoped, so for now, it doesn’t seem like the kind of success I thought it would be. But I would characterize our current situation as being wounded, instead of bleeding.
(Now when I make concrete predictions and they happen exactly so, that is thrilling)
Mike I know where John stands. I said I agree with quite a bit of what he writes.
Riddle me this….
Why has this Blog gone from National and Local Policy to a strictly local blog? Ya think the results of Obama policy has anything to do with it? Imagine unemployment at 5.5% Dow at 12,000! Ya think the Daily Brief would be filled with National News? LOL (you don’t have to answer)
Wow… this guy is unbelievable.
I don’t agree with the characterization, but you might be better attuned to it, not being current SCV.
I hope you will at least enjoy that our (winning) trivia team name last night was “Summit Seals”.
PERFECT!
and to think I was iPadless! No matter, there is no time to kill between rounds like the other place.
And what was the Republicans plan again? What more tax cuts?
Seriously John Adams hides his positions and only offers criticism. He doesn’t have the rocks to make a prediction UNLESS it is based on a liberal failure.
Betcha he was railing on “liberals” who were against the Financial moderization act back in 2000.
How did that work out anyway?
Hey Mike what was my prediction regarding the stimulus?
I took a position.
If only a couple of, blinded by ideolgy, members of congress would have used their heads the country would be a trillion dollars less in debt. With ZERO light at the end of tunnel!
A couple thousand temp jobs will never turn around an economy. The governmennt can only produce TEMP jobs. Lets divide the money spent by temp jobs created. Was it F’n worth it? We screwed our kids and grand kids over
Another little flashback for my liberal brothers
