The ultraconservative video-blogger behind the Not a Ferry Fan videos seems confused about the City’s proposal to “seize” three County libraries in town:
If he weren’t so blinded by anti-City rage, NAFF might realize that what the City wants to do is essentially privatize the operation of our public library system by outsourcing staff to a privately-held, for-profit library services company in Maryland.
Under the city’s preferred scenario, those highly skilled, educated and -yes!- unionized library employees in the SCV would either get the boot and have to work at other LA County Libraries or leave their jobs and apply to work for the private corporation, ending their time on the public dole.
This outcome, it seems to me, would be a most favorable one for a conservative guy who has appeared at Tea Party rallies holding “GREEN IS RED” signs and who drives around town in a Hummer with an anti-Jane Fonda bumper sticker.
But because the library seizure is proposed by the City (which he -without irony- attempts to tar with Obama’s Hope ‘n Change mantra) it’s toxic to him, and so he sides by default with public unionized library employees.
The folks who have a real, honest beef with the direction of the SCV need a better spokesperson than Not a Ferry Fan.

Bill got his a** handed to him by the Summit. Support for the swim league was great and all the events that Bill tried to stop took place. The kids and families had a great time. Bill left the board because no one supported him. He’s gone and things have calmed down. The season ended on a great note. He does drive a pretend Hummer. Kind of sums him up well.

My friend lives on the other side of the Summit. A strange woman came to her house very scared. She said a man was harassing her in Summit Park. He followed her up out of the park. She was so scared they called the cops. The cops found that man lurking up the street. The man’s wife came and convinced the cops he was harmless. She says that was you.
Yeah Steve Tannihill, the cops, actually the Deputy Sheriffs, learned from that man (yours truly) that the woman had been walking her dog illegally in our arroyo without a leash allowing her dog to agressively bark and charge at people. That man also called our Security Specialists to write her up, but she jumped in her friend’s SUV and drove away. Now, if that man was lurking and harrassing the woman, why did they simply ask a few questions and leave?
Come on you can do better than that… find something real. Ha!

I called Security and the lady jumped into an SUV near your house and quickly drove away.
Thanks Steve and Bill for confirming what my friend told me. Bill you threatened this lady. She was so scared she ran into a strangers house and called the cops. So you are as hateful towards dogs as you are towards children.

I did not threaten the lady other than to let her know that I was calling our Security people out to reprimand her for letting her big ole aggressive dog run free and scare the pants off paseo walkers. If I did something bad why didn’t I get in trouble with the Deputy Sheriff’s and why did she jump in a friend’s SUV and race awy to avoid our Security personnel?
