- So we all know that tomorrow the City Council will tackle the library takeover proposal, but what else is on the Council Agenda? Quite a bit: There’s a Tesoro annexation item, Council member nominations for several panels and committees and, interestingly, a new business item that notes a “proliferation of retail automobile and light trucks sales businesses throughout the City, including areas outside the Vehicle Services Overlay Zone.” Staff proposes a 45 day “moratorium on the issuance of any new permit, license, approval, or entitlement pertaining to the retail sale of new or used automobiles and light trucks anywhere in the City” while it studies the issue. RE: moratorium on new/used car sale permits.
The agenda item reads:
By “City staff”, do they mean “friends of Don Fleming?”
ND:
Another irony is that all of the dealers would probably say they are sympathetic to the Tea Party movement (Get government off our backs!) but do not hesitate to run in and get a friendly municipal government to offer mercantile protectionism.
Last time I drove through the auto center, it seemed like there were a lot of failed new car dealerships whose parking lots were filled with used cars which were being sold by the dealers.
I am wondering what they are afraid of? Competition from Latino used car salesmen along old San Fernando Road?]
Anybody got a clue on who these mysterious rogue car dealers are, and what they are selling? My daughter is looking for a good deal on a car right now!
@ND, on a different subject I am curious. Do you have any comments/thoughts regarding the Tesoro annexation on tomorrow’s Council agenda?
It’s a steep hill to climb. There’s no precedent for annexing undeveloped land slated for development (at least that I’m aware of). Call it another casualty of the housing crisis, but Montalvo and Newhall Land oppose it, clearly since LA County is more developer friendly. Problem is, we’ll be waiting eons for them to finish.
So residents continue to lack a vote in things that matter to SCV (libraries, anyone?) yet developers’ objections will probably put the annexation on ice.
And the placement on the agenda after the library issue means it will likely hit public comment after my bedtime !
@ND, I am sorry that you and your neighbors who would like to be part of our City are being held hostage by those developers.
I wonder if the people that support the “rights” of someone building a mosque would equally support other peoples rights?
You know how consistent liberals are! I wonder what Frank Rich would write about if 2000 people waved confederate flags at the annual MLK parade? Are they not equally protected? I laugh just thinking about the article Frank Rich would write (or the speech Bammy would give)
I love how all examples are always KKK and Nazi… not even close.
There is no difference between Christianity and Islam, when extreme both are violent, tyrannical forces. When practiced responsibly they can be a great good to a society.
when extreme both are violent, tyrannical forces.
Can you give some examples? I read this sort of dribble from the progressive left and usually they cite such things as the inquisition an abortion doctor and so forth. What Christian group has consistently killed innocent people in the name of Christ?
The crusades…
Oh and Killing people you disagree with based on belief in Christ is not dismissible in the way you try to dismiss killing abortion doctors… it’s wrong no matter how you slice it and an example of extreme violent behavior based on a fundamental christian belief. Quite frankly it’s terrorism, and this is from someone who is firmly opposed to abortion.
Then get some principles and condemn the violence toward abortion clinics as the murder it is…
–Crusades (Christians slaughtered anyone who looked Muslim including Christians and Jews)
–Iraq war (Crusades II, if you want to believe that this occupation was a secular war, then why the bible verse on the guns? Why all the statements from GOP leadership saying fighting in the name of God? Why all the brain dead Anti-Muslim rhetoric?)
–Prohibition of Alcohol (You will be Holy whether you like it or not because we say so)
–Jones Town (I am Jesus follow me… now have drink)
–Waco ( I am Jesus follow me… let’s have sex. What is the smell? Is that smoke?)
–Spanish Inquisition (When muslims occupied the Iberian Peninsula it was a peaceful time where christian and jews could worship as they pleased. Queen Isabella comes into power and the fun times begin… also the Crusades started shortly after this.)
–Violence toward abortion clinics (GOP/Christians refused to condemn any murders of Abortion doctors)
Prop 8 (Like a tyrant forcing your moral on an unwilling populous, trying to make their choice have anything to do with you.)
–Indian Wars (God has destined us to own all of this land… we just need to do a little pest control.)
–Spanish conquest of Americas (ahhh once again God has destrined us to own this land… )
–Holocaust (Hitler was a devout catholic) and Vatican did nothing to condemn the Nazi’s who never dared enter the vatican city when they occupied Italy)
–and Let’s not forget how Christians not just Catholics look the other way when kids get molested. Children in America are 600 times more likely of being molested in a Church then in a park.
So Let’s get one thing straight there Freddy… I don’t like Muslims anymore then Christian. But if you Bible thumpers are allowed to spread your B.S. message across our land then all religions should be able to do the same.
I am still looking for that example of the same kind of violence against innocent individuals comparative to Islamic Jihad.
Re: Crusades. It’s obviously you are ignorant of the history of the Crusades.
Re: Prohibition. I need examples of violence, not the banning of alcohol, which isn’t violent. This is comparative to the current green laws, which I take you are against as well?
Re: Jim Jones. Jones hated Christianity, and was more akin to a Berkley liberal. You may want to read his biography on that infallible site, Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Jones
Re: David Koresh. He was hardly a biblical Christian, and was renounced by the larger community of SDA churches, who themselves are a Christian cult and outside biblical orthodoxy.
Re: Spanish Inquisition. Which was more of a political issue in Spain and doesn’t reflect Christian orthodoxy. Isabella and Ferdinand lived about 4oo years after the Crusades started, BTW. Another reason you may want to study up on that.
Re: abortion doctors. That is simply not true. The recent one of Tiller was soundly renounced throughout Christian churches in the U.S., but seeing you hold Christians in disdain, I imagine you wouldn’t know that.
Re: Prop 8: No innocent people have been killed because of prop. 8.
I could go on, but what the use? Wish to try again? I need some examples of current day Christian “soldiers” killing innocent people in the name of Jesus. So far, they still exist in the wet dreams of liberal fantasy writers.
Fred, learn to read first please, then argue.
The original statement was “when extreme both are violent, tyrannical forces.” You then said, “Can you give some examples?”
Examples of the extreme were given to which you basically shrugged and responded, “Hey that ain’t us.” Which is EXACTLY the same thing that the majority of Muslims say about terrorism but ignorance abounds with them and people want to keep lumping them together.
The same way that not all Christians are abortion doctor killing, Wacko cult leaders.
Again, these are examples of extreme christians who are often “violent, tyrannical forces.”
We know you are not out killing abortion doctors or condoning, at least we are willing to take you at your word that you are not, you are not the extremist Christian that was being referred to in the true statement made above.
You can’t merely dismiss those extremists Christians as not fitting the example because they are not quite like you, that’s the freaking point, they are extremist… extremist Christians who act in the name of God in their own misguided fashion just like Muslim extremist terrorists do.
The above should have said, “but ignorance abounds with perceptions of them”
See Fred.. I said this.
“Violent, tyrannical forces” The comment makes them two different adjectives.
I think we can add the KKK and the racism of the south aka Bible Belt. Don’t even try to say that the KKK wasn’t a Christian organization…
I know the Crusades very very well. Just because you don’t like the fact doesn’t suddenly make them untrue. You Christian claim to know the truth… yet the basic facts seem to allude you. Am I surprised? How can I be when Children can be molested for years by preachers and the deacons look the other way and try to cover it up.
Christian historically are violent, if things weren’t going their way I have no doubt they would be blowing themselves up to get their way.
“David Koresh. He was hardly a biblical Christian, and was renounced by the larger community of SDA churches,”
–So is Al Queda by the Muslim community that doesn’t stop you and every other freedom hater from trying to attribute the most extreme sect of that Religion with the more moderate parts now does it.
“Re: Prop 8: No innocent people have been killed because of prop. 8.”
–To be a good Christian mean you must love Tyranny, hate personal freedom and the constitution. Sounds like the Taliban to me.
“bortion doctors. That is simply not true. The recent one of Tiller was soundly renounced throughout Christian churches in the U.S.,”
–Should be easy to prove.
I could go all day with Fred… you got nothing. There is no difference between Islam and Christianity.
- A person is free to accept Christ or not. Failure to accept Islam can be a death sentence.
- Christianity teaches forgiveness. Islam teaches retribution.
- Christianity elevates women. Islam degrades and devalues them.
- A person who renounces Christianity is to be loved and prayed for. A person who denounces Islam is sentenced to death.
No it doesnt slick but it is instead your misperception of Islam that gives you those views. Sometime try and befriend a Muslim and actually learn what they believe as opposed to making assumptions some right wing group has told you or misquoted. And as the old saying goes, “judge the people by the book not the book by the people.”
These are facts, slick. I’m sure you have friends that are Muslim and are wonderful people just as I know some Christians that are wonderful people – WHAT’S THE POINT? There is nothing that I said in my thread that is inaccurate when I contrasted the two religions with regard to their practices. Deal with it. I DO NOT get this information from some “right wing group” as you say. Don’t make assumptions about me or where I get my information.
Well being that I personally am Muslim I repudiate the supposed facts you attributed to Islam. The reality is there is a distinctive difference between Islam and the many cultures its followers come from. It is comparable to comparing Christianity to the backwards practice of the KKK or other groups which do not follow the actual religion. The supposed facts you quoted are the same ones that are coming from those who wish to demonize Islam because its convenient to have an enemy for SFC Perez to go off and fight.
I’ve studied Jim Jones’ biography, and I don’t rely on the unreliable Wikipedia for my history lessons. The good defenders of Prop 8 used Wikipedia for their defense and look where it got them! Jim Jones was a preacher, he was an ordained minister in the Christian Church, and almost a thousand people were killed because of his messianic, self indulgent, paranoid fantasies regarding the end of the world. The point being made here by those you oppose is that any religion has its crazies, and why we’ve decided to demonize the religion of Islam after all these years is nothing more than a dangerous election season ploy to once again scare white people away from that Kenyan born, muslim, socialist, communist president because the opposition has no other viable solutions to our current woes. Targeting gays and hispanics just isn’t getting the job done, gosh darn it!!
600 more times? Do you have a link for that stat?
Does Jonestown ring a bell?
Did you go to that wiki article? Explain to me how Jim Jones killed innocent people in the name of Jesus?
Who said anything about kkk or nazi? LOL You guys crack me up

Yeah and media matters has no history of taking things out of context! LOLOLOL
Yes because you have a history of caring about context.
I get it dude, unable to come up with a valid excuse for the comments so you attack the messengers.
John, there’s a Federal law which nobody on TV or in the state or Federal government wants to talk about. It was passed more than 10 years ago, and pretty well fully validated by the Supreme Court. The Federal law prohibits cities and counties from putting restrictions on buildings for “religious activities” which are tougher than restrictions on other uses in the same zone.
I think no one on TV or in politics wants to talk about the law, for fear of making the voters angry so close to an important election. The Federal law was enacted without a lot of publicity.
When this mosque controversy started, I dug up the law, and started reading the cases to see what has been going on lately. My conclusion was that as to this mosque near Ground Zero, if the zoning is right, and they are complying with the other city laws, there is no chance of stopping it under the land use laws. That’s why you’re seeing the attack change to questions about their source of land acquisition and construction funding…which the Federal and New York government can supervise and regulate outside of this new “religious liberty” law.
There’s one really famous and obnoxious California case, where the trial judge went against the new Federal law. LA Superior Court Judge O’Brien said that the Scottish Rite Masons are not a religious organization. (My 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Grandfather would give him a good argument on that conclusion.) Anyway, the California Court of Appeal had to take great pains to straighten the judge out on that one, but then said that the old Scottish Rite Temple’s auditorium on Wilshire Blvd. couldn’t be rented out for commercial or charitable events, because the applicable zoning wouldn’t allow it.
If anyone is interested, I’ll spend a day and construct some links to the law, the interesting cases and some summary articles.
In Houston, there are so many Muslims, married to oil industry engineers and other technical types, that the nice shopping centers in town are filled with ladies in Islamic dress from all of the Arab countries. When we were there,
we bumped into a wedding party at a fancy restaurant, and there was a woman with what I call a “Casper the Black Ghost” outfit. Black seemingly solid cloth over her head, no peep holes for her eyes, black dress to the floor underneath, and long black sleeves. I was so stunned by the oppressiveness of the outfit, especially in Houston’s awful humidity, I was speechless.
No matter what one says or does, the demand for the building of mosques is going to continue, and that Federal law makes it virtually impossible to stop construction of them. So, too, for LDS’ mandated standard designs for stake centers, and onion-domed Orthodox churches.
NickelDime – Couldn’t agree with you more. I’ll bet the Vehicle Services Overlay Zone bullseye is centered on Creekside. I’m sure the existing dealers don’t like the competition.
But I’ve seen one used car dealer at the corner of Sierra Hwy and Sand go out of business the past year as well as the boat dealer at Soledad and Sand. Is this really a problem or just a ruse to reduce competition? To me, this just sounds like protectionism.
Among the problems with Lunetta’s columns is the Imam traveling on our dime to advance Obama’s agenda. Four years ago, the same Imam traveled to the Middle East as part of a W sponsored envoy to connect State Department officials with moderate Middle Eastern Muslims, the same thing he is doing now. But he wasn’t accused of advancing W’s agenda. The fear surrounding Muslims is curious, because our last President hammered home the point after 9/11 that Islam as a whole was not the enemy and the American people in large bought that. The Daily Beast ran a great column on this subject. But perhaps there is another issue here; the fact that one in 5 Americans believe our president is a Muslim. Perhaps the source of this hysteria is about Muslim conspiracy to overthrow our government. I have seen people refer to this as a victory mosque. And as far as the ridiculous equivocation between the center and marching in a MLK parade with confederate flags or building a Nazi Social Achievement Center next to Auschwitz, one shouldn’t compare an entire religion of nearly 1.5 billion adherent to a terror group such as the KKK, nor a cult of personality like the Nazis. Lumping an entire religion under the umbrella of terror is no different than calling all Germans racist anti-Semites or all Southerners Klan members. All three positions are patently bigoted because they associate the acts of a few with the inherent values of a group, therefore demonizing the group.
Excellent post, OccassionalPoster; you bring up some very good points and I believe that George W’s. sentiments were spot on:
[President's Greeting for Ramadan - November 5, 2002
I send greetings to Muslims in the United States and around the world as you observe the holy month of Ramadan.
Islam is a peace-loving faith that is practiced by more than one billion people, including millions of American Muslims. These proud citizens contribute to the diversity that makes our country strong, and the United States is grateful for the friendship and support of many Muslim Nations that are vital partners in the global coalition to fight against terrorism.
The Qur'an teaches that Ramadan is a time for fasting, prayer, worship, and contemplation. Muslims observe this month by renewing their dedication to caring for those in need, doing good deeds, and strengthening family and community ties. These actions reflect many of the values that Muslims share with people of other faiths across our Nation and around the world, including courage, compassion, and service.
America remains committed to freedom, justice, and opportunity for all people. During this season of reverence and examination, we continue to work together for a future of peace, tolerance, and understanding.
Laura joins me in sending our best wishes for a blessed time. May you be well during Ramadan and throughout the coming year.
GEORGE W. BUSH]
Hmm…does this make our former President a Muslim?
Also, where was the outrage when HE hosted a dinner to celebrate Ramadan at the White House, on November 19,2001?
Even our ‘then’ president knew that it was not the religion that caused the attacks on 9/11, it was extremists. It won’t matter how often our President states he is not muslim, he was born in the U.S. and the freedom this country has (and continues to fight for), is his continued goal for the future; there will be people that HATE and will continue to try and bring him down.
Jeff, I am interested in elaboration on your suggestion that Signal writer Jim Holt is becoming more open to the idea that the chloride treatment plant is needed. And for the life of me, I cannot see how the drought (which is real and becoming a great problem) has anything to do with chloride levels. And props to Mr. Holt for doing a great job covering this issue. As I walk precincts around the Canyon Country area, many residents have sited Jim’s continuing series of articles as their main source of information on the chloride issue.
@Kevin – With less water during a drought the farmers have to get water from deeper in their wells which is the high chloride water that they complain about. With a lot of rain it all gets diluted and therefore no problem. Keep water flowing down the Santa Clara and there would be no need for desalinization. Like that’s gonna happen! Option 2: Move the strawberries and avacadoes.
navigator: I understand the connection between well water and higher chloride levels but fail to see how that is in anyway related to the chloride that we are dumping into the Santa Clara River.
As I have said before, 80 mg/l of the chloride being measured downstream of Santa Clarita came to be there from it’s travels through the Sacramento/San Joaquin Delta.
I totally agree
For a balanced diet of opinion, read Frank Rich’s Sunday
NYT Balanced? That’s a good one. Chuckling all morning.
Fred, he means Lunetta, taken with Rich, makes for a balanced diet (a pro and a con).
How Pathetic that Fred couldn’t deal with arguments only discredit by where it was written.
very small…
But very right.
Very Arrogant… Just like Jesus
That’s because Jesus is right.
I wonder if he would cover up the molestation of children?
No, He wouldn’t.
And he also would be welcoming and non-judgemental to people of all faiths and beliefs despite what you see in the world today.
You are correct, Jesus would love all people of all religions. I wish the Muslin faith was as tolerant of us “infidels”.
Well Islam is tolerant of you being from a different faith. If you would like I can always meet with you to show you in my religious doctrine these such facts. The problem is not with the religion but my fellow Muslims who don’t follow the religion. And the word “infidel” is not an Islamic term but actually came to use by Christians in France during the 15th Century. There is a distinctive emphasis placed on People of the Book in the Qu’ran since they are believers. Too often ppl, both Muslim and non-Muslim, misquote verses towards the pagan tribes at that time.
Anyone who wonders why people are confused as to whether Obama is Muslim should remember when our tolerant Obama hasd a cross coverd at Georgetown University.
http://dailyradar.com/beltwayblips/story/white_house_asked_georgetown_to_cover_christian/
Anyone still throwing out that our president is a Muslim is an idiot!
This is a distraction to cover the utter lack of an economic plan going into November.
Are you a good foot soldier spreading propoganda and bullshit?
Idiots all!
He’s a Muslim AND he wasn’t born in this country.
and the earth is flat OMG!
I would ask that it is covered too… does that make me Muslim?
Petz = church zombie.
Question? If the new york times said he was a muslim would it be OK? Or would you mock the NY Times?
Dumb Question = No Answer.
Well it was a tough question?????
You can waste your time with stupid hypothetical if you want.
Not hypothetical if they did it
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/05/12/opinion/12luttwak.html?_r=3&pagewanted=print
The New York Times Op-Ed in question was an opinion written by Edward N. Luttwak, a fellow of the ultra-right-wing “Center for Strategic and International Studies.”
Luttwak claims, wrongly, that Obama would be a bad choice for president because he was born a Muslim and “converted” to Christianity, making him apostate, and therefore an enemy of Islam.
It would be hilarious, were it not absolutely ridiculous.
But Luttwak does say that Obama is a Christian, and not a Muslim. So he’s right about that.
That nonsense has been thoroughly debunked.
http://www.factcheck.org/2009/04/obama-at-georgetown/
Sadly, as Jon Stewart observed, “Irrationality, I have come to understand, cannot be fought with empirical evidence. If you don’t believe President Obama was born in this country, seeing his birth certificate ain’t gonna help you.”
As Preflyte notes, this has been debunked. So I have this question: What do we say of “Christians” who continually violate the commandment not to lie by obstinately repeating and continuing falsehoods (Obama is a Muslim, using the term “mosque” instead of community center, misrepresenting the positions and statements of people they don’t like, etc.)?
Maybe some of them are ignorant of the facts and easily led — but many are not. Why do they not denounce the liars in their party? Why do they follow and further falsehoods? Why are they DISHONEST Christians? Where is the demonstrated truth of their faith? I don’t see it, and I honestly wish I could.
Because their “faith” has nothing to do with religion. It’s the “Redemption Racket,” meaning these Talibangelicals, “Christian” extremists, are “saved” are superior, and exempt from the rules the rest of us must follow. They call that “Compassionate Conservatism.” They are holier-than-thou. Kind of like a “master race,” that same mindset.
And now they are all going to have to stop watching Fox News:
Saudi Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal, the second-largest shareholder of Fox News, through his Kingdom Foundation has donated $305,000 to Muslim Leaders of Tomorrow, a project sponsored by two of Imam Rauf’s initiatives, the American Society for Muslim Advancement and the Cordoba Initiative, which is building the Manhattan mosque.
Which Fox hasn’t disclosed, maybe because this fact will interfere with their fear-mongering propaganda about the Islamic center.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/yblog_upshot/20100820/bs_yblog_upshot/news-corps-number-two-shareholder-funded-terror-mosque-planner
This is from ABC’s Washington affiliate on the same issue:
“Decisions made about the backdrop for the speech were made to have a consistent background of American flags, which is standard for many presidential events. Any suggestions to the contrary are simply false,” White House spokesman Shin Inouye told ABC News.
Georgetown officials said that the White House requested the backdrop and asked that all signs and symbols behind the stage be covered up.
“In coordinating the logistical arrangements for the event, Georgetown honored the White House staff’s request to cover all of the Georgetown University signage and symbols behind the Gaston Hall stage in order to accommodate a backdrop of American flags, consistent with other policy speeches,” said Julie Green Bataille, associate vice president for communications at Georgetown.
A Georgetown professor went on to say the decision was not one made about theology but on communication and message.
I hate carrots. I’m so glad it wasn’t a tanker of hot wings.
Regarding the riots at Pitchess. Too bad this device was not yet deployed. This story was on the front page of the Daily News Saturday with a picture of Jonathon Randles of the Signal getting zapped.

I keep hearing that the World Trade center site is hallowed ground… then why is it ok to have a strip joint (sorry, gentelman’s club) accross the street from the site and not a mosque 2 blocks down ????
Jeff still refuses to stop personal attaks…so sad !
Petz if he eliminated personal attacks their would be 4 posts a month from the left
And if you stopped copying and pasting from the Internets… we would never hear from you.
I love how Neo-Con’s always complain about “personal attacks” have then been to a Tea Party or Minute man rally? Have the read their own comments? Have they seen their own people on this very blog?
LOL Look at this thread and point out my c/p and or links? then count yours
Keyword was “THIS THREAD”
Is that not “KeywordS”?
Petz just wait till Nov 3rd and this is going to be a fun site to be on. The thought of never having to hear “Speaker of the House Pelosi” again, gives me wood
Are you referring to the rabid ‘anti-incumbent fervor’ which has so far totalled over 300 incumbents winning their primaries, vs. only 7 who have lost?
Bill Reynolds refuses to stop the personal attacks…

So Sad…
New color scheme – reminiscent of “Green is Red.”
What Mosque does Obama attend?
What Christian church has he attended in the last 21 months? (we know the great one he attended before that)
Since I don’t want to sound as if everything Obama does is wrong, I will say this. That family sure knows how to Vacation! Could be the best presidential vacationer ever
So you got that goin’ for you, which is nice.
So I said to the lama, Hey how about something for the effort
Just how stupid is this John Adams fellow?
First he asks, “who said anything about Nazis and KKK?” Well, Mr. Adams, the guy who wrote the article that was linked to said it. Right there in the article. So that’s who said something about the Nazis and KKK, you ignorant fool.
Second, he links to an NTY article that he seems to think claims Obama is a Muslim. In fact the author of that article explicitly says Obama is a Christian, and just notes that Muslims would treat his apostasy as a crime. Of course they can only consider it a crime if he did become a Christian–if he was actually a Muslim, there’d be no apostasy.
It seems Mr. Adams has trouble with reading comprehension. Of course I’m sure most people here have long ago recognized that he was a fool. We can only pray that his eyes will be opened and he can see for himself how foolish his comments are.
Oh, I missed John Adams third brilliant comment, about what church President Obama attends. None regularly, but he has attended an AME church several times.
Does Mr. Adams ever get tired of making public demonstrations of his foolishness?
You wrote “but he has attended an AME church several times” But then when I read the link it said he attended there once and it was chosen because of a recent drive-by?
Did you make that up?
(This is where he responds with more personal attacks and name calling) LOL
John Adams,
You do have problems with reading comprehension. Let me cut and paste from the article for you. First, about whether he chose the church because of a drive-by shooting. I have no idea if he did,* because the article doesn’t say what you claim it did. All it says is,
See, it doesn’t say anything about him choosing it because of the shooting, which, by the way, was several miles away, not right nearby. Where in the world did you get the idea that it was chosen for that reason?
Second, you claim the article says he attended there once. Actually, it says five times, as I first noted.
So do you just have trouble with reading comprehension, or do you lie on purpose? Do you think lying is a good way to engage in political debate? Don’t you think that if your arguments are really sound, you don’t need to lie?

*Although it could be a great symbolic statement for a president to go to a neighborhood for just that reason–to show he’s aware of the problems; Jesus hung out with the lower class folks, too, you might remember.
Hoosier, you lied!!!!!!!
You claimed the president had been to that church several times (“but he has attended an AME church several times”) He has been there ONCE. Why did you lie?
He chose that church for political reasons only and anyone with an education over 4th grade level will easily see that. (I urge everyone to read the AME link he posted)
This is like shooting fish in a barrel
OK, my error. He has attended this church once. And has attended church in D.C. five times.
But I never said he didn’t choose it for political reasons. Every president has political reasons for choosing their church, you nitwit. But the article doesn’t say Obama chose the church because of the shooting–that’s what the pastor assumed, not what Obama or his spokespeople said.
Now, I was man enough to own up to my error. Are you man enough to own up to yours, or are you going to stand by your false claim?
Because, remember, you were wrong in your original comment about the KKK and Nazis. Are you going to own up to that?
The real John Adams would have, you know. There was a man with integrity. You insult him by using his name.
I love my muslim girlfriend.
I really dont care what he is. You can take everything I know about the muslim religion and put it in a thimble. (and have plenty of room left over)
This might suprise you. I think the uproar over the mosque is a joke. If you truly believe in our Constitution then you are compelled to allow things that you would oppose the rest of your life. That is freedom!
By the same token every person that voices their opposition to the mosque are using the very same freedoms granted by the constitution.
How much of the salt in the water is from the use of artificial fertilizers by the very farmers who demand we remove the salt before discharging wastewater into the SC River?
It is not water softeners that have created the saline groundwater in the San Juaquin valley, it is from farming with chemicals. And now we are asked to pay to remove what others have put into it?
This is a state problem and the state should bear the cost, not just the SCV.
Absolutely agree SF2 but if the water police agree with you then they or the state will need to cough up the money to fix them problem. It’s much easier to create income and a reason for their being by fining all the various communities under their totalitarian rule than it is to spend $$$ to solve everyone’s problem.
Now I understand why you did not get the whole truth. You only read the first sentence. If you read the whole story you would see he had only been to that church once. He also went to a Baptist (not methodist) church once. concentrate danielsan and you will do better. read your link again below
