It’s difficult to feel anything but melancholy about the Golden State these days. High unemployment, dire financial straights (year after year after year) and a big divide between the Coasties and the Inlanders, but at least we still have Huell Howser.
And our state song is way better than Texas’.
I think he and Laurene Weste would get along famously.
Somewhat Shatner-like, but not quite. The young women at the Musician’s Institute are the best advertisement for California!
