  • By the time you read this, a decision may or may not have been made in Save our Libraries lawsuit against the City of Santa Clarita. The Superior Court in Chatsworth is scheduled to determine whether SOL can sue the City over the city’s library privatization scheme based on privacy grounds, according to KHTS, TIM MYERS
  • Councilman Frank Ferry said to be “making progress” as he battles post-surgery illness at Holy Cross Hospital, according to the City SIGNAL
  • Two Santa Clarita men, owners of a debt collection company, arrested for mail and wire fraud and money laundering ABC
  • Latest “What is OVOV?” article from the Signal and resulting predictable comments on the story SIGNAL
  • But where will all the kids go to school when developers add several hundred thousand people to the SCV? That is the subject of the next Signal article. Also in the article: Casden Development, the guys who wanted to build at the mouth of Placerita Canyon, is expected to submit plans early next year for Newhall SIGNAL
  • The Daily News is celebrating 100 years of press this fall and winter with stories from its past. Once called the Van Nuys News, the paper has published a retrospective of the Saint Francis Damn disaster in a sidebar on its website. DAILY NEWS
  • 2,200 word article on why & how Creekside Auto dealers benefit the City of Santa Clarita. I don’t want to sell it short, it’s actually a good article SIGNAL
  • Dave Bossert says Newhall Redevelopment is futile until the City reroutes traffic down Main Street WRB
  • Fall foliage in the SCV rivals that of Vermont, New Hampshire or Colorado? This letter writer thinks so.

    I still remember the ‘Valley News and Greensheet’ from the sixties. It was free and actually had a green front page.

    It is sad that the Daily News essentially gave up on the SCV. Reporter Judy O’Roarke was very good to me in reporting on our Open Space Tax opposition (As you were as well Jeff).

    Speaking of Frank Ferry @ Holy Cross Hospital…Obamacare has been ruled unconstitutional and we can finally breath a sigh of relief. Limited govenment is not dead in the United States.

    The Daily News really hates it when you refer to their paper as the “Green Sheet,” as it was known when I was a kid in the SFV in the ’60s.
