The Signal is reporting today that the state agency responsible for funding new courthouses has only $57.8 million in its fund, and a state official says the number of new courthouse projects will have to be reduced. Supervisor Antonovich’s office sounds optimistic though SIGNAL

Prop to the Signal for the excellent typography on Sunday’s issue. Good thinking.
Irrespective of LARC’s ties to ICLEI and the United Nations (Agenda 21), one only needs to read the LARC information included with the staff report to learn; it is LARC’s goal to push for reducing US greenhouse gas emissions to 80% below 1990 levels. With today’s population and foreseeable technological advances that act alone would decimate the American economy and our ability to compete in a world market. In addition, the issue of grants, raised by staff and our mayor, is not even mentioned.
I believe it would be irresponsible for my government officials to use American Taxpayer dollars to join, and therefore help fund, an organization which promotes an agenda that is harmful to our American economy and way of life.
Thanks for your vigilance Alan, why don’t you run for council?
This city needs more paranoid science-phobes, that’s for sure.
In my professional world… we have a troublemaker causing us quite a headache complaining now about Agenda 21 and ICLEI…
One of those “big brother, government intrusion, Obama wants to know what you had for breakfast, new world order” kinda guys. Really? Aren’t there bigger problems????
One really has to wonder why Cameron would intervene in a dispute where an entity “underbilled” the state. What , they finally realized they did not charge as much as they could get away with ? Cameron is walking into the sunset knowing he does not have to stand for reelection, so it really does not matter to him.
Nice astronomy day poster, Petz. My kids and I have loved looking through the solar telescope, the comet presentation, making telescopes and I often refer back to the scaled solar system set up in the corridor. Absolute favorite, though, is looking through the nighttime telescopes, and seeing Saturn’s rings, the moon’s craters and more. So awe-inspiring.
We’ve been attending for about 8 years now, I think.
Unfortunately we are between major planets for October 1.

BOO YA! Score one for the Sarge!
It has been a pleasure working with the Valencia library-the poster was done in one day, with the county it took time and had to be sent to Norwalk for approval. How did you see the poster so soon?
It was posted on a homeschool group.
