In regards to the Dennis McCarthy article, yes she did live in the SCV as I know that at least one child graduated from Hart High and then he came back to his alma mater to teach history and coach swimming.

  3. Timothy Myers SR says:

You do realize that Stephen Winkler, proud registered Republican seeking Republican endorsements from the Repub organizations for his SUSD school board candidacy, was of late a registered Democrat who rolls up to Repub club meetings in his car with Jerry Brown and Hillary Clinton stickers still attached.

  4. Petz says:

Winkler’s opening statement to the CRA was that his favorite President is Richard Nixon-and he was wearing a Nixon button. Former teacher in the LAUSD-he promised to never close a school if the student population was over 300. We listened politely….not all Republicans are Conservative…..he can still try for the endorsement of the new CRA Canyon Country chapter. His LTE was a just bit melodramatic.

Gopers can also stay home and watch the webinar of Chris Christie live from the Reagan Museum. Conservatives will probably choose the Angle event.

  6. Petz says:

While it is understood that Jeff is jesting about Petz being at the House of Blues the impression should not be left that he is a crazed enemy of the President. In fact, Petz respects the office of President, believes that God has put him in a position of authority, and Petz regularly includes Obama in prayer for wisdom and personal safety. If there were a public event to hear him speak, Petz would attend and be respectful. It is called being a good citizen. It is dangerous for our nation to have it’s Commander in Chief being perceived as weak by our foreign enemies…and the defense of our country is of paramount importance.

  8. Packfan says:

Imagine America if a small majority with Petz’ opinions were around in 1775. We would never be a United states due to a group of hyper opinionated people overloaded with self-certitude.

We are surely doomed unless the extreme right decides that their actions are ripping America apart, not unifying in any way. This started with Newt and has only grown with the reach of right wing radio and Fox. I really don’t get it. We probably agree on more things than we disagree. It’s just that your side will and has killed those who don’t agree with your views. Even O’Reilly kept up the Tiller the baby killer crap until he was murdered in church.

We can have a difference of opinion, but their cannot be a difference of governing ideology. Their can be no dominant religion, race or anything. Also, corporations are not people. Quit screwing us with this nonsense!

America evolves whether you care to believe in it or not. In 100 years we will be a mix of Hispanic and Chinese.

So be it. Why does race matter? It only seems to matter to the Petz’s of the world.

    Get help!

How do you jump from “hyper opinionated people overloaded with self-certitude” to conservatives. I thought for sure you were talking about the liberals until I got to your second paragraph.

  9. Petz says:

It’s like a smorgasboard, you pick something, put it back , take something else, change your mind, go back for more. I’m back with Cain for the 9-9-9 plan. And Palin is still in the kitchen.

Sorry for the Dems who are left with nothing but rotting table scraps on the table.

    • Mr Perez says:

You put items back at a smorgasboard? Remind me never to go to a buffet with Petz ;)

Thumb up 11 Thumb down 3

    • Mr Perez says:

“The 9-9-9 plan eliminates the payroll tax and estate tax, which brought in a combined $883 billion in 2010, or about 41 percent of the $2.16 trillion collected by the federal government last year. Cain’s proposal also wipes out taxes on capital gains and repatriated corporate profits.

The Tax Policy Center estimates that cutting capital gains taxes alone would allow 23,000 millionaires to pay no income taxes, a move that would add $11 billion to the deficit each year. Cain’s fellow GOP presidential candidates Michele Bachmann, Newt Gingrich and Jon Huntsman also support eliminating the capital gains tax.

Cain’s plan to end taxes on corporate profits that are earned overseas and then brought back into America would drop federal revenues by about $80 billion over the next decade, according to the tax center.”

And how are we going to fund the military or anything government/tax related with this massive loss of tax revenue? We are at the point now where even Congressman McKeon knows we are going to have to create new tax revenue to increase funding for the Department of Defense. Really curious how businesses are going to feel obligated to bring work back to the US and pay a much higher cost of operation.

    • Petz says:

Well maybe a little more like a pot luck than a smorgasboard, but some of us are still want to see what Sarah is bringing to the party.

Thumb up 2 Thumb down 4

      • Mr Perez says:

Come on brother, Sarah Palin? Christie I can somewhat understand but not Palin. Cain has no experience in politics and working with the King at BK doesn’t count :P

But back to his 9-9-9 proposal and how much money it takes out of the tax coffers. There is no guarantee that corporations will increase jobs, thus taxes, in this country if they are given a break. But there is a guarantee that if taxes are decreased on them we will see much less coming in. Mr McKeon-R, is concerned that the defense budget is taking a hit now, can you imagine the type of hit it will take then? Thankfully I am close to retirement because I am sick of the ping pong game the Dems and Pubs are playing with us.

Cheryl, think maintain, not increase. The “new normal” is not pleasant to think about, espcially as I age. Morning aches and pains used to come only after a sports injury.
