Candidate Filing Update-12 Days Left

When I communicated with Deputy City Clerk Susan Caputo today I told her that two words would make me happy and those two words are “Johnny Pride!”

Alas, not only did Johnny Pride not pull papers today no one else did either. So I will now take a moment to handicap the potential field as to whether or not they actually complete the qualification process:

My “fantasy” (and this is a big fantasy) is that Bob Kellar does not complete his nomination papers by January 13, which would then extend the filing period and we see David Gauny jump in and waltz into the open seat, as is his statistical and historical birthright. That would be a hoot!
