Guess what? The Korean taco truck that ignited a craze of gourmet and offbeat food trucks in LA is making it's first stop in the SCV on Wednesday.  I've never been, but it's worth supporting, if only to encourage it and other trucks to visit our sleepy town once in a while.

Exact location TBD, 10:30pm until (gasp) 1am.  Check out http://kogibbq.com/ or http://twitter.com/kogibbq/. The Roja truck is the one to look for. I think it's cash only.

I was so excited when I heard they were finally making it up to the SCV.  I will be there for sure.

Gonna try to be there at 10:30 . . way past my bedtime, but it sounds tasty.

The economy is so bad, I became a Pastafarian hoping that a meatball will appear to me.

I don't understand this business model. Why show up in sleepy valencia on a week night? Why not cruise the Industrial Center during a week day like the roach coach does

Few thoughts:  they have a lot to learn about Santa Clarita.  This is too late.  I'll be there, but I'll be stretching my hours like the rest of us.  Also, they will be lucky if the police don't run them out of town at that hour.  Maybe, just maybe, doing it on a private street will get them some cover.  That said, it's probably an experiment on their part and they don't want to risk a prime-time shift on an outlying town.

I think they'll have a big crowd on their first try and I hope that's enough to show that the interest is out there.

Roach coach in the industrial center doesn't do much business.  This isn't a lunch town. Roll up around 6PM near the mall and you make a killing.

I'm looking to go as early as possible.

Are you in?

No sorry not really interested. If you want to write about it though I'm happy to post it. Or maybe link to your Yelp review

I'll take the over on that. I can account for 20 people right now.

I'll have to trust you on a full accounting.  But the way I see it, unless they slap BBQ on the outside of it and call it BRAND NEW GRAND OPENING, they won't attract the majority of the Santa Clarita crowd.
