Long time Talkers probably know that Petz eldest son has been an enlisted Army soldier since 2007.
Discretion has often precluded me from mentioning him during regular posts, which has been necessary, but not always easy for a proud father.
Petz is pleased to let his friends know that his son Spencer has been accepted to West Point for the 2011 class following in the footsteps of notable soldiers such as George Patton and David Petraeus. A Petzold will now join the long gray line.
Just had to tell someone, before my buttons pop.

Because Petz's son and others (including daughters) like him are willing to volunteer to be warriors, our sons and daughters have the opportunity to pursue other things when they are of a certain age. This is the real thing we should thank them for, since they are taking the burden entirely on themselves. Are our sons and daughters can do, besides support the troops, is to endeavor to keep this a nation worth defending.
