Very fun, especially to amateurs like me who have no clue:

http://www.worldwidetelescope.org

Now for the true test. Petz?

Petz has stayed away from the robotic telescopes because it is the complete experience and human interaction which is just as important to me.

The SLOOH telescope can be useful for schools or individuals to to use for low cost astronomical observation.

Petz reluctantly did support the recent decision to largely suspend human space exploration since it is to expensive and dangerous for the knowledge gained.

It's like a telescope that looks back in time to 1997.

Well, it was created by Microsoft Research. And it's free.

Why don't you watch this: http://www.youtube.com/v/8r1CZTLk-Gk&rel=0 for more perspective, Alpiner!

LOL. You may find it ironic that Alpiner was the first person to post this clip to the board.

I do indeed. He obviously needs to watch it again.

You can append to Louis CK's monologue: "they mapped the entire universe, accessible on your piece of $hit computer. It took thousands of years just to figure out Pluto isn't a planet, and this guy's pissed cuz it won't work on his MAC."

I happen to know that Louis CK is a hardcore Mac user. He might be on our side.

Tell ya what - when there's a Final Cut release for Windows, then we can bitch about Microsoft not releasing their Worldwide Telescope for Mac. Fair?
