Indeed they did.
Germany decimated Argentina, 4-0.
The German's, in BLACK uniforms, played very well. They displayed consisitent, effective teamwork. Argentina just wasn't up to it.
Mrs. Karamazov's dream of an all Latin American World Cup have disipated.
It looks like Germany will go all the way.

My landlord here thought that Argentina would win.
I took a walk to the town center of Echterdingen, the Polizei had Haupstrassa (main street) blocked off to traffic, I walked toward the center and a small group of celebrates were having a good time, in Stuttgart there was expected to be 100,000 out.

My wife is cheering for Spain.
Her hopes for an all Latin American World Cup have transmorgrified into a thin desire to see Spain maker it to the finals.
I may be forced to cheer for the Netherlands if Spain makes it.

I'll be watching the finals in LA tomorrow, with a large group at my wife's great aunt's house.
They will all be cheering for Spain.
I will be wearing an orange bandana.
I'm sure they won't try to hurt me.

Very brave wearing the opposing team's colors into the enemy's camp.

Well, as you know, Spain defeated Netherlands.
I wore my orange bandana, but my wife protected me from any outbursts.
The crowd laughed and enjoyed my team's defeat. I drank too much Sangria, and we all played nice.
