I was at a gathering 2 weeks ago where one of the leaders of the SCV Interfaith Council was speaking.  After his talk many asked questions about how the Interfaith Council works with so many of different faiths to bring change and understanding in Santa Clarita.  I found it interesting that the Catholic churches and the Mormons ended their participation because the powers that are in charge have charged their faithful NOT to interact with other faiths in this forum.

Tolerance of other faiths is already strained and the fact that these 2 large demoninations in the SCV have removed their followers from the SCV Interfaith interaction is very sad and seems to be another way to divide the religious.

I imagine there is more to the story LD. What always has perplexed me is those religious organizations in town that do not participate in Family Promise for similar reasons.

My church is very involved in Family Promise and we believe it is a great program to support.  Churches who do not wish to work together to help alleviate homelessness and bring a broader understanding to others of faith continue to confuse me.

LD, I agree with you on that one.
